My friends have always called me a “history nerd,” and now I can say I’ve officially earned that title.
As a real estate agent in Philadelphia, I’ve always loved sharing stories about our city’s rich past, especially in neighborhoods like Society Hill and around Independence Hall. But I wanted to put my knowledge to the test—literally. That’s why I recently took (and passed!) the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT) certification exam—without much studying!
APT is an incredible organization that promotes professionalism in the tour guide industry, trains guides, and administers a certification program. Since I naturally weave history into my conversations with real estate clients, this felt like a perfect fit. Now, I can proudly say I’m both a certified tour guide and your go-to real estate expert for historic neighborhoods in Philadelphia!
This past weekend, APT hosted the National Federation of Tour Guide Associations (NFTGA) conference right here in Philly. We welcomed 100 tour guides from across the country to prepare for the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding in 2026. The city is gearing up in a big way for this major celebration, and as both a realtor and history lover, I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.
